Over months of expectation and excitement, along with numerous fans across the world, Thalapathy Vijay’s much-awaited conclusion of the film Janam is all set to enter theatres tomorrow.

The movie, which had originally been called into question as the second hit in a row, was delayed for its certification as a film, and is coming at a historic time in Vijay’s career. Apart from being one of the biggest stars in Tamil cinema, Vijay has entered the political realm recently and has achieved a historic triumph when he got his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

As per trade analyst Ramesh Bala, Jana Nayagan has already sold some 20 crore ahead of his book in India, while around Rs 15 crore has already been sold overseas.

Bala says it can expect a strong opening in India, landing the film on the top spot with an expected opening-day collection of Rs 60 crore. It’s expected to clear close to Rs 90 crore in India in a day once it opens around the globe. He is hoping for Rs 150-180 crore in India and an estimated and around Rs 250 crore worldwide for the first weekend.

Even trade expert Taran Adarsh has foretold a “thunderous” opening for the film, clearly showcasing the extraordinary buzz that the film will generate.

One of the biggest attractions of Jana Nayagan is the possibility that it might be Vijay’s last film for the time being. As his political ascent and rise to Chief Ministercy came into the spotlight, many fans viewed the release as a retirement celebration of the actor’s film career.

The political victory and cinematic success will culminate in becoming one of the biggest Tamil movies of the year with the release of Jana Nayagan.
