The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has said that it has introduced special operating protocols to ensure the safety of the approximately 70 lakh expected audience on Friday, October 30, when Diljit Dosanjh concert is to be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
The Punjabi singer and actor has been announced as the first guest of his Aura India Tour 2026, which will start in the national capital. DMRC will run the metro beyond its hours of operation on all its lines (except the Airport Express Line and in Gurugram include Rapid Metro) to aid the movement of concert attendees.
More Trains and Standby Trains
More trains will be run on the network as part of the Concert’s smooth dispersion, says DMRC. Passenger numbers will also be kept in mind and standby trains will be prepared to be deployed if their numbers unexpectedly increase.
The measures have been put in place to alleviate congestion and make it easier for concert-goers to get home after the show.
Enhanced Security at JLN Stadium Station
The most recent metro station before JLN Stadium, which is located on the Violet Line is expected to be very busy and is called Metro Station JLN Stadium.
DMRC has, in addition, said to have increased the security at the railway station. Further security is to be deployed, with the introduction of the Door Frame Metal Detectors (DFMDs) and strengthened screening procedures to ensure the smooth flow and adherence to security protocols.
DMRC, in its announcement on X, said the arrangements were made “specifically for the purpose of facilitating the movement of the telemachers attending the concert.
These are scheduled to run longer than usual, with extra trains and police to make it easier and safer for thousands of fans to come to and from the stadium.
The DMRC is advised to update patrons with service timings and travel details before they go to the venue.
