The NTA in a unique move has drafted a set of rules for the team of teachers and subject experts constituted for setting the re-exam question paper in a bid to prevent any breach of examination or question paper security.
Aiming to maintain the integrity of examination, experts involved in preparing the NEET UG 2026 retest question paper have been moved to undisclosed location, where they will remain until the re-exam concludes on June 21. This is the first time in the history of Indian education system that exam personnel those involved in setting, translating, and moderating the paper will not be allowed to contact family or friends until the examination is fully complete.
According to reports, re-exam paper setters are placed under a strict lockdown at a confidential facility. A multilayered security framework has been designed to protect the entire question-paper ecosystem. At this undisclosed location, all personal digital devices including smartphones, laptops, and smartwatches have been barred, and internet access has been strictly restricted or entirely cut off until the evening of June 21 to prevent any unauthorized data leak.
Centre on Sunday, announced to deploy an extensive security apparatus- IAF. The Indian Air Force has been roped in to transfer the question paper. In addition, around five lakh security personnel are expected to be deployed across the country for examination-related duties. AI-enabled surveillance cameras and enhanced monitoring of social media platforms will be engaged to detect and prevent any attempts to compromise the examination process.
More than 22 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the NEET UG re-exam, which will be held on 21 June 2026 from 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. The NTA has released city intimation slips for candidates, which can be downloaded from the official website.
