Russia’s Vladimir Putin and China’s Xi Jinping are among the world leaders who will attend the high-stakes conference and making their way to the capital New Delhi for the 18th BRICS Summit, set to take place from September 12 to 13. There will also be preparations to serve visitors at the summit site an Indian slice of the family’s rich culinary past as part of the official discussions while at the venue. The Taj Mahal is now hosting a special dining experience for the international delegates that allow them to taste the local culture and cuisines that they are about to learn while enjoying well know dishes to make them feel at home.
News agency quoted Executive Chef Kaushik Misra as being in charge of the culinary arrangements. The Taj Mahal chef has been working for months to research and plan menus that are traditional Indonesian dishes paired with menu items and references that may be familiar to international visitors.
The centre of the preparations is the “India Friendship Menu”, a special in-room dining that is specially created for the visiting delegates.
The menu incorporates items that are part of Delhi Culinary scene along with region specific tasty delicacies of various regions across India. The restaurant showcases a blend of traditional cuisine and international flavors, fostering a sense of familiarity while keeping an eye on immersing guests in the vibrant and diverse food culture of India.
The initiative is part of the broader preparations being made in the capital of India where leaders and senior delegations from all the BRICS countries would be arriving.
While the formal meetings and diplomatic interactions are expected, food is also anticipated to immerse the visiting leaders into the cultural diversity of India, too, through the specially prepared menu, which will provide a taste of the diverse regional cuisines within the country.
