Fresh attacks were reported across the Middle East, with Kuwait’s power and desalination plant hit again as Iran retaliated the US strikes. Air raids sirens blared in Jordan and Bahrain as authorities intercepted incoming aerial threats.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it fired ballistic missiles at US C-17 transport aircraft and P-8 surveillance planes at Jordan’s Aqaba Airport, alleging that several aircraft were heavily damaged. In a statement carried by Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, the IRGC also claimed it destroyed 20 hangars housing US forces at the Muwaffaq Salti (Al-Azraq) Air Base in Jordan.
The US in its ninth consecutive attack struck Iranian coastal surveillance, air defence sites and IRGC positions linked to attacks on American forces in Jordan to weaken Tehran’s military capabilities. It targeted strategic locations including Chabahar, Bushehr, Bandar Imam, Mahshahr, Jask and Sirik. The strikes at Khormoj, reportedly caused power outages- the administrative centre of Dashti County in Bushehr province.
Located along Iran’s Gulf coast near the Strait of Hormuz, Dashti County has previously been targeted in US strikes aimed at disrupting Iran’s naval and missile capabilities. The area houses military installations linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy.
The US embassy in Bahrain issued an advisory warning Americans of a possible Iranian threat targeting central Manama. Citizens were advised to stay alert, follow official instructions and seek shelter if warning sirens sound.
Iranian state media reported that a new wave of missiles had been launched from Lorestan province toward “enemy targets.” The IRGC also claimed that two oil tankers exploded and were forced to halt in the Strait of Hormuz, calling the shipping route unsafe amid ongoing US military operations. As per health ministry, the death toll rose to 50 since the recent strikes began in which the US is targeting civilian infrastructure.
Interacting with state media, Iran FM Abbas Aragchi said Iran will end its war with the US when it gains “the upper hand in the field”, highlighting the key decision in crisis management was identifying the right moment to stop fighting and begin negotiations.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump mourned the death of US troops. Vowing revenge he said, the US “feels very badly” about the deaths of American service members, while insisting Iran “cannot have a nuclear weapon.” According to sources, the US is reinforcing its military presence by deploying F-16 fighter jets from Germany, F-35 stealth aircraft from Britain and additional aerial refuelling planes. Officials said the deployment had already been planned before the recent attacks on US troops.
As US and Iran intensify attacks, the Pentagon reported the death of a third American service member. The soldier was killed in northern Iraq while disposing of a downed Iranian attack drone, taking the total number of US military deaths in the conflict to 17. The latest casualty came just a day after two US soldiers were killed in an Iranian missile strike in Jordan.
