The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has successfully located 14 Naxal dumps in the heavy-duty search in Chhattisgarh during its continuous operations against the Naxals.
The joint team from CRPF 199th Battalion carried out a search operation in the forest areas of Adi, Harri, Nayapara, Sarpanchpara, Pidia and Kuapguda villages on 5th September, 2026. Chiefly planned on the basis of credible inputs, it was implemented under the guidance of Commandant Anand Kumar and supervision of Deputy Commandant Darshan Yadav.
Searching teams were set up by the B-199 Company and the Young Platoon and a systematic search was carried out; and the forest was cordoned off. This armament operation was led by Company Commander Ajit Kumar Deka and Company Inspector Neeraj Kumar, B-199 and F-199 Companies respectively.
On the during search, security personnel recovered materials which they believe were planted by Naxals with the aim of causing harm to the security forces. It translated to the recovery of seven rifles, including one .303 bolt-action rifle, five Bharmaar rifles and a 12 bore locally made gun.
The teams also found eight detonators, Codex wire, 10 IEDs, a wireless set (no battery included) and four plastic containers and three large steel containers. Altogether, 99 items of various kinds were found, such as IED material, electrical components and clothing related to the Naxal.
During the operation, the personnel kept the constant alert and had phased deception search. The materials recovered had been found to have been hidden up to use as a weapon against the security forces, authorities said.
The Adi, Harri, Pidia, Kuapguda and the adjoining regions are believed to be Naxal sensitive in the past. The CRPF asserted that its relentless efforts have led to the elimination of the Naxal activity in the area and increased people’s awareness about security.
During the operation, there were no casualties reported.
The 199th Battalion assured to protect civilians and ensure peace and development of the area, despite being under lockdown, Commandant Anand Kumar noted. He said the intelligence-based operations would be further expanded and work is continuing to ensure that the area was totally free of the influence of Naxals.
