The National Testing Agency National Testing Agency has come under fresh scrutiny after several candidates who appeared for the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Entrance Examination 2026 allegedly reported discrepancies in their scorecards, attendance records and examination process. Amid broader criticism of the agency’s handling of other national-level examinations, social media platforms including Reddit and Instagram have been flooded with complaints over the NIFT 2026 results, raising fresh questions over the evaluation process.
Taking to social media, Several NIFT 2026 aspirants claimed that their published results do not align with their expectations or recorded performance. Some candidates alleged that students who did not appear for exam were still assigned scores, while others who had appeared were marked absent. The screeshots circulating online also mentioned discrepancies in General Ability Test (GAT) and Creative Ability Test (CAT) scores, with some candidates stating that their marks were substantially lower than anticipated.
A key concern raised by students relates to biometric verification at examination centres. Some users also claimed that centres in certain locations did not perform biometric authentication during Stage 2 of the selection process, raising questions over identity verification protocols. A widely shared social media post summarised multiple grievances, including claims of attendance mismatches and evaluation issues. The post also alleged that irregularities were affecting a large number of students and causing distress among candidates and their families.
Screenshots circulating online purportedly show communication referencing grievance redressal, with assurances that specific cases related to attendance discrepancies would be reviewed. The controversy adds to increasing scrutiny of the National Testing Agency, which has already been facing criticism over irregularities and administrative issues in examinations such as NEET UG and CUET UG. The agency is under scrutiny for technical glitches, evaluation concerns and procedural lapses in conducting competitive examination in India.
At present, the agency has not issued a detailed public statement specifically addressing the claims made by candidates regarding the NIFT 2026 results.
