Bhopal: The probe into the gruesome case of fake IAS officer Trupti Singh in Bhopal has got a surprising addition with two officers under the scanner for demanding bribes from the victims.
Both Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Manju Sharma and head constable Sunil Rathore of Bagsewania police station were probe into the fraud case involving Trupti Singh. But there are complaints allegedly coming for the two policemen that they were demanding money from people who had already lost lakhs of rupees in the alleged fraud.
The police personnel were allegedly demanded bribes by the victim for them carrying out their functions in the case, the complaints said. The allegations were that the two policemen had made an attempt to come to some sort of financial understanding with people who are related to the accused and have demanded money from them.
Senior level police officials reviewed the complaints due to the allegations. After initial verification action taken by Bhopal DCP Vikas Shahwal against two of them and the order for immediate line attachment was passed.
The development has added another twist to the fake IAS officer controversy. Trupti Singh has been incorporated in the allegations of fraud and cheating, with victims alleging that they lost significant amounts of money.
The two policemen are the source of the action, underscoring the severity with which the department is taking allegations of misconduct during the investigation. The reported findings of the on-going departmental investigation and any further evidence collected by senior officers may determine the further action required.
The case remains under investigation and the allegations to the police personnel will have to be substantiated in the proper departmental procedure.
