After the release of the list of the 1st day collections, Ranbir Kapoor-led Ramayana Part 1 has started throwing shade on Prabhas-led Adipurush at the box office.
Yet this epic with a reported budget of Rs 4000 crore has failed to not match or beat Adipurush’s opening-day gross in India and globally.
The figures show that Ramayana Part 1 grossed Rs 75.6 crore in India on the very first day, according to them.
Collections Across Multiple Languages
A re-release is to be seen in various languages and further collections were made from regional releases of the film.
The Kannada version earns Rs 7.25 crore, Telugu version earns Rs 6 crore.
Meanwhile, the Tamil release made Rs 2.60 crore and the Malayalam release made Rs 1.50 crore on the opening day.
Adipurush, in comparison, managed to make Rs 86.75 crore net in all languages across India after just a day.
Worldwide Collection Comparison Draws Attention
On the global scale, the film Ramayana Part 1 is said to have collected Rs 50 crore and its overseas gross is expected to reach Rs 127.50 crore.
As per Sacnilk data Adipurush netted on day 1 across the world with Rs 128.08 crore followed by Ramayana.
But T-Series had earlier announced that Adipurush has collected Rs 140 lakh crore on day 1 box office worldwide.
Given the scope and alleged budget of the new Ramayana adaptation, the resemblance has led to a lot of speculation – mostly online – as to whether the two are being produced simultaneously.
