Delhi Government Electricity Saving Guidelines: Amid the severe heat wave prevailing across the country, the Rekha Gupta Government of the national capital, Delhi, has launched the ‘Save Electricity’ campaign. Under the campaign, the Delhi Government has instructed all its departments to stop wastage of electricity and use electricity as per requirement.

The Delhi Government has ordered to run AC at 24 to 26 degrees, keep the lights off during the day and increase the use of natural light. The Delhi government led by Rekha Gupta has taken this decision after PM Narendra Modi’s appeal to save energy.

The order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) directed all department heads, autonomous bodies, and local bodies to take necessary steps to control power consumption in their subordinate offices. It also advised installing master switches so that all electrical appliances can be turned off simultaneously after work is complete, preventing unnecessary power consumption.

The “Save Electricity” order states that this decision was taken in response to Prime Minister Modi’s appeal to conserve fuel and energy. This includes turning off unnecessary lights during the day and maximizing natural light where possible. Only turn on lights when necessary for work. The government also recommends avoiding excessive lighting in rooms, corridors, and office premises.
