Samrat Choudhary, the newly elected Chief Minister of Bihar, on Friday won the trust vote in the state legislative assembly by voice vote and pledged to continue the governance model of his predecessor Nitish Kumar. He reaffirmed that his government would remain firm against what he called the “triple C”—corruption, crime, and communalism.

In his address following the confidence vote, Choudhary outlined his administration’s key priorities, stating that his office would directly monitor block, circle, and police stations to ensure better governance and accountability at the grassroots level. He emphasized that his government would focus on holistic development, including private investment, infrastructure expansion, creation of 11 new townships, and reforms in agriculture, education, and healthcare sectors.

He credited the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government under Nitish Kumar for laying a strong foundation over the past two decades, claiming that Bihar’s development journey must now be accelerated. Choudhary said that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working towards building a developed India, Nitish Kumar had already set Bihar on the path of prosperity, which his government intends to strengthen further.

The Chief Minister also launched a sharp attack on Opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav, rejecting his remarks describing Choudhary as a “product of Lalu school.” He responded by stating that past political challenges and personal hardships faced by him and his family under the regime of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav had only strengthened his resolve and contributed to his rise in public life.

Choudhary concluded by promising stable governance focused on development, accountability, and continuity of ongoing reforms in Bihar.
