Chhattisgarh: The number of COVID-19 cases in the state have been increasing over the last few days. According to the Union Health Ministry, the number of coronavirus cases in the state stands at 307 with 235 active cases. On Tuesday, the State Health Department has released a new list of areas under red, orange and green zones of the state.

The guidelines issued by Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on 17th May which mentioned that the respective state government will decide the demarcation of the zones as per the spread of coronavirus, Chhattisgarh has issued a new list based on the present scenario.

The list has been prepared in the view of number of active cases of Covid-19, the doubling rate and the latest status of sample investigation per one lakh population.

In the list, nine districts of the state have been included in the Red Zone, namely Balod, Korba, Mungeli, Raigarh, Rajnandgaon, Ambikapur, Bilaspur, Kawardha, Balodabazaar.

According to the Health Ministry, containment zones refers to a specific geographical area where positive cases of COVID-19 are found. The area will remain sealed and no one will be allowed to go out to enter the area without permission from authorities.

The department has also released the list of Covid-19 affected containment zones declared by the collectors. As of May 25, the number of declared zones in the state is 95. The zones declared Red, Orange and Green zones and Containment zones are as follows –
