Raipur: On Saturday, Chhattisgarh recorded the highest ever one day spurt with over 3100 cases. With this, the tally of coronavirus in the state crossed 60,000.

The state’s infection tally reached to 61,763 on Saturday, according to an official bulletin.

The death toll increased to 539 as 21 more patients succumbed to the virus. Raipur has the maximum number of fatalities with 250.

As many as 759 patients were declared cured in the last 24 hours. There are currently 33,246 active cases, with 27,978 cumulative recoveries, translating to a recovery rate of 45 percent.

The places that reported new cases include Raipur (764), Rajnandgaon (273), Durg (263), Raigarh (180), Kabirdham and Janjgir-Champa (150), Bilaspur (128), Bastar (125), Mungeli(106), among others, the bulletin said.

A total of 7,72,134 samples have been collected for testing so far in the state, the bulletin said.
