Raipur: Amid the lockdown in various districts, the ordeal of coronavirus in Chhattisgarh doesn’t seems to end anytime soon as on Friday, over 400 cases recorded in a single day. This is the highest ever registered statewide. There were 2 deaths reported in the state in Friday night health bulletin.

Of these 426 cases, Raipur recorded the highest with 244 cases, next is Rajnandgaon with 28 cases, 20 cases are recorded from Durg, 18 from Bastar and so on. In all, 20 district reported atleast 1 case in a single day.

The total number of coronavirus cases in Chhattisgarh now stood at 6819 including 2216 active cases. Meanwhile, 36 people succumbed to the virus.

On Friday, a total of 180 people were discharged from different hospitals following their recovery. This brings the tally to 4567 patients who have recovered so far. The present recovery rate of the state is 66%, which is slightly higher than that of the entire nation that stands at 63%.

“The cases include 2216 active cases, 4,567 discharged and 36 deaths,” the Chhattisgarh Health Department said in a release.

The total number of coronavirus infections in India crossed the 13 lakh-mark to reach 13,36,861 on Saturday. Also, 757 deaths in the last 24 hours pushed the death toll to 31,358.

Chhattisgarh’s Covid-19 figures are as follows:

  • Total positive cases: 6819,
  • New cases: 426,
