It was on Saturday that over 51,000 youths got job appointment letters of the Central government’s recruitment at the 20th Rozgar Mela, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called upon the new recruits to work with efficiency, honesty and integrity.
The appointment letters were sent out via programmes simultaneously conducted at 45 sites, and announced by Modi over video conferencing. The recruits would be absorbed by several government ministries and departments of the Central government such as railways, revenue and financial services, home affairs, health and family welfare, Defense and other departments.
The Government has announced that the total quota of Appointment letters issued under Rozgar Mela has now reached to around 12.75 lakh. Under those lines Modi congratulated the newly appointed employees and their families, recognizing the efforts and sacrifice of their families that have been made on their way, to reach this place.
He thanked the recruits and spoke about the mission of India becoming a developed nation by 2047. The new recruits would play an important role contributing to a developed and self-dependent India, he said.
Modi also spoke about the public behaviour of the government officials with regard to the public. People’s interaction with government is often through individual officials, such as when pensioners look for government help; people wait for scholarships; and farmers go for government benefits, he said. He encouraged the recruits to make sure that their behaviour, consistency, efficiency and honesty add to the public-service experience.
The Prime Minister also spoke of how the government is working to create young Indians for the changed job market demands. He talked about various schemes such as National Education Policy, Skill India, PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana and the promotion of more apprenticeships.
He also pointed out that around 1,000 government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) are being modernized through the PM-SETU scheme with higher industry participation, and the investment made on it is ₹60,000 crore.
