Raipur: On the fourth day of the monsoon session of the legislative assembly, the house witnessed a ruckus on the issue of ready-to-eat food in the question hour for around 27 minutes. BJP MLA Ajay Chandrakar slammed the state government on its efforts.
The opposition alleged that the state govt has been running a racket and failed to supply ready-to-eat food to Anganwadi centres in April. The BJP MLAs demanded an enquiry by the Assembly committee into the entire matter. In response to this, the Women and Child Development Minister Anila Bhediya said that the women’s self-help group had filed a petition in this regard at the High Court.
It is noteworthy that the Bhupesh Baghel Govt had decided to distribute free mid-day meals to children in the Anganwadi as ready-to-eat food.
