A 94 year old athlete from India clinched gold medal for her country in the 100 meter sprint at the World Master Athletics Championship in Finland. Bhagwani Devi from Haryana is getting applauded for her outstanding performance at the age of 94 as she covered 100-meter race track in just 24.74 seconds.

Sports personalities and Union Leaders across the country hailed this epic performance and congratulated the ‘Queen of Athletics’.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports defined Bhagwani’s performance as commendable and used its twitter handle to inform the nation about her success in Finland.

The World Master Athletics Championship is organized every year for the athletes aged 35 years and more. This time the event was organized in Finland and was scheduled from June 29th to July 10th. Union Minister Anurag Thakur took to his twitter handle to extend his wishes to the 94 year old woman and tagged her as an inspiring lady.

Haryana’s Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khatter also congratulated her saying that she has become an inspiration for the entire world.
