As per reports, Pakistan former Prime Minister Imran Khan underwent a medical checkup amidst concerns over his physical well-being on Sunday. Khan, who remains jailed since 2023 following his conviction in a corruption case.

His party, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf, and supporters have repeatedly claimed that his health deteriorated due to inadequate medical attention in the prison. However, the authorities have consistently rejected the allegation.

According to local media houses, citing sources, a specialist team from the state-run Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences conducted Khan’s medical examination. The former prime minister underwent evaluation that included checks of his blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and eyes. The report added that medical personnel from the Adiala jail hospital is also assisting physicians from PIMS during the examination.

Previously, Khan had complained of an eye condition and had been taken to PIMS on several occasions for medical treatment and examination. Meanwhile, Aleema Khan, Imran Khan’s sister, was detained by authorities, according to a report by the national media on Sunday. Citing Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf sources, media houses reported that Aleema Khan was detained after the office of Lahore’s deputy commissioner ordered her detention or arrest for 30 days.

As per the report, the September 20th order issued by DC Muhammad Ali Ejaz directed the detention or arrest of the former prime minister’s sister Aleema Khan and a man identified as Muhammad Amir under the Punjab Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance 1960.
