Andhra Pradesh: In an attempt to raise awareness about the upcoming environmental day, Roads and Buildings (R&B) Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy unveiled a poster.
Officials from the A.P. Pollution Control Board (APPCB) met the minister at his camp office on Sunday briefing him on the efforts taken for environmental protection.
Mr Janardhan Reddy will formally launch a program on Monday to plant 500 saplings on both sides of Banaganapalle bypass road, which is currently under construction. The plantation drive to be held on June 5 is being carried out and overseen by APPCB, Nandyal division.
Officials have been instructed to intensify efforts to create public awareness regarding key issues such as environmental protection, greenery, sanitation, pollution control, and the adverse consequences of plastic usage. He also pressed active participation of every member of society.
During his visit to Chandrababu Naidu Nagar and Eidgah Nagar, the Minister inquired about the issues affecting the residents in their localities. When the residents brought the severe sewage problems in their area to his attention, Mr. Janardhan Reddy directed officials to desilt the drainage canals by Monday and ensure proper flow of sewage.
