MORENA: The death toll in the blast that took in Moren on Thursday increased to five with one more person succumbing to injuries, police officials said as the rescue ops continued.
An injured identified as Vishal Bamiki died while being treated at a hospital in Gwalior. Meanwhile, six other injured are undergoing treatment at the hospital, two out of them are critical, Banmore Police Station in-charge Biresh Kushwaha said.
Four including a woman and her daughter died on the spot when the house where a tenant stored firecrackers collapsed following a powerful blast on Thursday. The ground plus one building was reduced to rubble and two nearby houses were also damaged in the incident.
A case has been registered under Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 304-A and the Explosive Substance Act has been filed against Rakesh Gurjar, Dhuraram Gurjar, and house owner Nirmal Jain- who was injured in the accident. Jamil Khan who is said to have sold the fireworks is arrested.
