Ahead of CJPs proposed march from Jantar Mantar to Parliament, climate and education today, only if the government is ready to take accountability for failures in the education system or the MPs are ready to take up the issue in the parliament.
Crowds swelled at the Jantar Mantar even as authorities put in place elaborate security arrangements and said that no permission had been sought for any such procession. Prohibitory orders under Section 163 BNSS (formerly Section 144 CrPC) are currently in effect in New Delhi district. Security is heightened in view of the ‘Chalo Sansad’ march. Over 1200 police personnel across VIP areas and borders of the capital have been deployed. Delhi looked like a fortress as preparations were underway.
Founder of the satirical party, Abhijeet Dipke has claimed to have received inputs that ‘goons’ inputs that “goons” may be allowed to disrupt the protest and urged supporters to remain peaceful and not fall for any provocation. Besides, several other have alleged to have seen a truck loaded with stones parked in the vicinity of the protesting site questioning the intent.
Meanwhile, Wangchuk who is at Safdarjung hospital said his health prevents him from joining the march and appealed to MPs to meet him at Safdarjung Hospital. As of Monday morning, his vitals remained stable, but blood parameters warrant close monitoring. His wife, Gitanjali Angmo has moved the Delhi high court’s division bench again to permit her to transfer the activist from Safdarjung hospital to a private hospital.
In her petition she said, “Sunday order illegally confines Sonam Wangchuk to Safdarjung Hospital without arrest. ” The petition will be heard by 10:30 am at the Delhi court today.
