Lalluram Desk. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon announce a “High-Powered Demography Mission.” This is a strategic national initiative aimed at curbing infiltration from neighboring countries—especially Bangladesh and Myanmar—into border states, and also addressing artificial demographic changes taking place across the country.
Delivering the annual Rustamji Memorial Lecture organised by the Border Security Force (BSF), Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that after freeing the country from Naxalism, the focus should now be on stopping the infiltration that has been going on for years. “The time has come to stop the infiltration program that has been going on unabated for years. Many retired police officers had told me not to launch the ‘Naxal-free campaign’. They had told the same thing to the Prime Minister. But the Government of India remained firm on its decision.”
“A five-decade-old problem is now coming to an end, and India is now Naxal-free. The BSF must now move forward with the same determination to combat infiltration. The Prime Minister has launched the ‘High Power Demographic Mission,’ which will be announced in a few days.”
Shah said that under the ‘High Power Demographic Mission’, information about possible identified infiltration points will also be provided to BSF and Border Security Force personnel.
Mission announcement by PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a ‘high-powered demographic mission’ during his Independence Day address in 2025. He highlighted the threats posed by ‘demographic imbalance’ caused by infiltration and illegal migration in border areas.
The mission aims to address this national security challenge and also to protect the unity, integrity and rights of the citizens of India.
