The Miss World 2000 winner has an interesting story to tell about her iconic ‘namaste’ pose after winning the crown, as the actress opens up about how it helped her prevent a ‘wardrobe malfunction’ on one of her biggest stages.
The Miss India Organisation last week posted a video on its official Facebook page, showing that at the end the body tape was torn from Priyanka’s strapless gown and she was forced start her train immensely embarrassed to tie off her gown with her hand discreetly.
Instead, the 18-year-old folded her hands into a graceful “namaste” while bowing to her audience to mark her curtsy, all without showing any doubt. She was certainly wasn’t poised as if it were a greeting, but Priyanka was covering a likely wardrobe malfunction due to stress, the organisation wrote.
True poise is when all of it doesn’t go according to plan, but it looks like it does. In one of the past interviews, Priyanka has already expressed the incident in a humorous manner, acknowledging that she was just a teenager at the time and had no clue of the world’s radars.
The post also recapped another fascinating story in her life with husband Nick Jonas.
Nick and Priyanka have been together months since they connected on social media in 2016 before they married in 2018, but Nick had unwittingly followed her the long way to her historic win at Miss World years before.
Priyanka’s mother-in-law informed her that the Jonas family told her that they had seen her win on TV back then, when they were still in Texas about 2000. Priyanka could not believe this story in the beginning, but later said it was one of the many unusual occurrences that laced their lives together years ahead of them meeting.
