Priya Bapat recalls unsettling experiences as on-set, as co-star kept kissing during shoot
Recalling an uncanny situation Priya Bapat shared an incident during her initial days in the industry. Known for her acting prowess in Marathi movies, Hindi films and web shows, Bapat recalling her experiences shared, “This was kind of my first, first films. This is all before City of Dreams and everything happened. And there was only one kiss in the film. And I had concerns and doubts about it right from the script-reading sessions.”
She continued, “And I was continuously asking the director, why do you need it here? It’s not about whether I want to kiss or not. But it’s just about… how do you justify it? How do you justify? It just doesn’t fit here.”
She revealed that things started getting uncanny when the co-star started getting more closer than the intimate scene demanded. Surprisingly, the co-actor made personal advances beyond the film set, failing to take the hint that she was not interested. She also felt helpless because they were staying in the same hotel, in different rooms. He kept persisting to meet up for breakfast or dinner, despite her continuous rejection
Priya further revealed that the filming of the project was happening on a restricted set in Bhopal, and she did not know how to handle the circumstances at that moment. Recalling how her husband came to her rescue, Bapat shared that she would confide in her husband every night. After things were going beyond the line, Umesh Bapat, husband of Priya flew to Bhopal accompanied her for three days offering her assistance during what had turned into a more and more troubling ordeal.
