Akshay Kumar’s film, ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue,’ failed to make a significant impact in the theaters, delivering an underwhelming performance at the box office since its release.
Despite hitting theaters on October 6, the film did not achieve the anticipated success. The movie portrays the remarkable life of Jaswant Singh Gill, a real-life hero who bravely rescued 65 miners trapped inside a flooded coal mine in West Bengal’s Raniganj in 1989.
Over the weekend, ‘Mission Raniganj’ managed to accumulate approximately Rs 5 crore in India. However, on its second Sunday, which fell on October 15, the film’s earnings were estimated at Rs 2.75 crore nett in India, bringing the total 10-day collection at the domestic box office to Rs 27.93 crore.
On October 15, the movie recorded an occupancy rate of 21.06% in India. The film features a stellar cast, including Akshay Kumar, Parineeti Chopra, Kumud Mishra, Pavan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, Varun Badola, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Rajesh Sharma, Virendra Saxena, Shishir Sharma, Ananth Mahadevan, Jameel Khan, Sudhir Pandey, Bachan Pachera, Mukesh Bhatt, and Omkar Das Manikpuri. ‘Mission Raniganj’ serves as a tribute to the unwavering determination, valor, and ingenuity of the human spirit and engineering minds, despite its box office performance falling short of expectations.
