NEW DELHI: Bollywood actor and Sri Lankan model, Jacqueline Fernandez on Tuesday was granted bail by a Delhi court in connection to her involvement in the money laundering case that involved conman Sukesh.

The Race 3 star has sought bail on grounds that there was no need for her custody since the investigation is already complete and the requisite for filing a charge sheet were fulfilled. The court had on September 26th granted Jacqueline an interim bail to her personl bond of Rs 50,000.

The court in its previous hearing with the agency questioned why the actor was not arrested so far. “Why haven’t you (ED) arrested Jacqueline yet during the investigation despite issuing an LOC? Other accused are in jail. Why adopt a pick-and-choose policy.”

On August 17, 2022, a supplementary chargesheet filed by the ED in the Rs 200 crore extortion case against conman Sukesh Chandrashekar in a Delhi Court mentioned Jacqueline as an accused. The agency had mentioned how the actress not only enjoyed the gifts showerde upon her by the conman but also passed them on to her family in Sri Lanka.
