Along with the NEET UG 2026 re exam results National testing agency on Thursday midnight announced the toppers for the year 2026. Aryan Gupta of Punjab and Panshul Bansal of Haryana have jointly secured All India Rank (AIR) 1 by scoring 715 out of 720 marks. More than 58% of the qualified candidates are women.

Nearly 20 lakh students reappeared for the examination out of which 11.21 lakhs qualified for Medical quota while remaining were eligible for undergraduate medical programs. As per the data released by National testing agency, 138 candidates scored above 690 marks, while 19 candidates crossed the 700-mark threshold.

In terms of the caste category, 5.12 lakh candidates belonged to the OBC-NCL category, followed by 2.91 lakh General category, 1.59 lakh SC, 95,026 Gen-EWS, 63,716 ST, and 3,666 PwBD candidates. The qualifying cut-offs varied across categories, with the General category cut-off ranging from 715 to 213 marks.

Of the top 138 candidates (scores above 690), 93% cracked the exam on their first attempt, with 99% of them aged between 17 and 19 years. Nineteen candidates crossed the 700-mark threshold. The examination was administered in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, and Bengali.

In statewise results, Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest number of qualified candidates while Lakshadweep repoted the lowest of 1.7 lakh and 43 respectively.

Regional toppers included Jigmet Yangchan Lamo (Ladakh, 530 marks), Dhruv Tripathi (Andaman and Nicobar Islands, 606), and Fahmida Anees (Lakshadweep, 573).

The testing agency had released a provisional answer key with a public challenge window opene from June 25 to June 28. Scanned copies of original OMR sheets were nade availablw from July 13 to 15 where candidate responses were hosted transparently online for direct verification. The final answer key was released on Thursday along with scorecards and ranks.

NEET UG 2026 was previously cancelled in May following a paper leak. The case garnered national attention and was handeled bg CBI. Several arrests were made pan india as investigation revealed involvment of private tutorials.
