Sonepat: Regarding the murder of Jai Bhagwan in Jhanjhari village on September 24, the Special Task Force (STF) Ambala unit has made progress in its investigation. They have apprehended two individuals believed to be associated with gangster Gogi, one of whom is a minor.
The individuals in custody have been identified as Chirag, also known as Anshu, residing in Adarsh Nagar, Sonepat and a 17-year-old minor. Both were members of the Gogi gang, which claimed responsibility for Jai Bhagwan’s murder. The arrests took place in Sonepat.
Inspector Deepender Singh, head of STF Ambala, has confirmed that the accused have admitted their involvement in the crime. They revealed that five members of their gang were responsible for shooting Bhagwan.
Additionally, it has been discovered that the juvenile suspect was also involved in a shooting incident on August 12 in Yamunanagar. Consequently, they have been charged under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including Sections 285, 34, 387 and 506. The relevant sections of the Arms Act (25, 54, 59) also apply to their case.
The individuals who were arrested have been transferred to the crime investigation agency of the Karnal police for examination and inquiry.
These arrests represent progress in the investigation of the murder, revealing the connection between the Gogi gang and this dreadful crime, as well as their wider criminal operations in the area.
