Lakshirsarai: On Monday, a tragic incident occurred in Lakhisarai, Bihar, where two members of a family were fatally shot and four others were injured during a shooting incident. This unfortunate event took place in Punjabi Mohalla under the jurisdiction of Kabaiya police station as the family was returning from a ghat after participating in the Chhath pooja ceremony.
The injured individuals, three of whom are in poor condition, were immediately transferred from Begusarai Sadar Hospital to Patna for medical treatment.
Preliminary investigations conducted by authorities suggest that the motive behind the shooting is connected to a relationship. Lakshisarai Superintendent of Police Pankaj Kumar has reported this information according to news agencies.
“A family in Punjabi Mohalla under Kabaiya police station in Lakhisarai experienced an incident where two members lost their lives and four others were injured. The incident occurred while they were returning from Chhath Ghat after performing pooja. Three injured individuals have been referred from Begusarai Sadar Hospital to Patna, for treatment. The investigation is underway as it seems to be related to a love affair ” stated Kumar.
The deceased individuals have been identified as Chandan Kumar and Rajnandan Kumar. The injured include Lovely Kumari, Preeti Kumari, Durga Kumari and Shashi Bhushan Kumar.
Upon receiving the news, the police swiftly arrived at the location, and effectively retrieved a firearm that is suspected to have been utilized in the perpetration of the offense. The investigation into the incident is currently ongoing as authorities work to uncover more details surrounding this tragic event.
