Bhind: In the latest operation where the anti-corruption bureau nabbed some officials, a late-night raid was conducted in the sub-registrar office of the Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh that included the local government departments. A Naib Tehsildar conducted the raid at the behest of the District Collector, Sanjeev Srivastava, at the Subregistered Office in Gohad Tehsil.
The raid was occasioned by reports of suspicious activities, which had been received by the collector’s office for some time now. During the raid, it was found that although the office belonged to an organization and was closed for the day, an individual was found working inside it. Naib Tehsildar, who spearheaded the drive, had the gates of the office opened and proceeded to interrogate the man who was inside it. However, specifics of the interrogation and what the team gathered during that process have not been disclosed to the public.
Finding someone working at night has posed several questions or ideas with specific regard to the kind of work that goes on behind the closed doors of this office. That is why it is unknown whether the man was a company employee or a stranger, which only deepened the intrigue around the incident.
This seems to be the first time the state has had a government office surreptitiously raided while still dark, which has caused a stir within local administrative circles. Such a nonlinear event has sparked much debate among government employees, mainly because many of them are worried about the possibility of new inspections within different offices.
This particular event has not only led to raising more questions about the working and operation of the Sub-Registrar Office but has also pointed out the unauthorized activities in government premises during closed hours. What remains mandatory these days is for authorities to proceed with the probe further so that any improprieties are dealt with, ensuring that incidences will not be repetitive in the future. During the investigation, various departments of the government are on stand waiting for other events to unfold.
