Raipur- The viral video controversy involving a Congress legislator in Chhattisgarh has ignited a heated debate, with the BJP accusing the Congress of attacking the cultural and Hindu values of Chhattisgarh. In response, Kavita Pranlalhare, the Congress legislator, has vehemently denied the allegations, stating that the video in question is from Jalandhar and is being exploited by the BJP for political gains. She further questioned why the BJP has not similarly circulated videos related to the Ram Temple in Shivrinarayan.

Pranlalhare clarified her stance, asserting that she embraces all religions and regularly visits temples. She emphasized her connection to the region by mentioning her election from Baba Guru Ghansidas’ constituency. Expressing her dismay, she revealed that a video of her visit to a church was also being circulated with malicious intent. She accused the BJP of engaging in dirty politics and tarnishing her image. Drawing attention to the stark differences between the BJP and Congress, she condemned the BJP for attempting to shame a daughter of the region.

In a direct challenge to the BJP, Pranlalhare questioned why they haven’t shared videos of her visit to the Shivrinarayan Ram Temple, implying that perhaps it doesn’t align with their political narrative. She asserted her identity as a Hindu and a daughter of the Satnami Samaj. Criticizing the BJP’s alleged attempt to disgrace her, she questioned whether she should even consider meeting with the BJP.

This controversy highlights the intense political polarization in Chhattisgarh, where both major parties are engaged in a war of narratives and attempts to sway public opinion. The clash between the BJP and Congress extends beyond political differences to involve allegations of cultural insensitivity and the exploitation of videos for political gain.
