Raipur: As the Chhattisgarh assembly elections of 2023 draw, there is a buzz and strategic planning taking place in the political arena. Each political party is careful. Refining their list of candidates leading to changes in the state’s political landscape.

The BJP, currently functioning as the opposition party in Chhattisgarh, is expected to announce its candidates in September. Interestingly it seems that the party is prioritizing constituencies where they have faced defeats in a couple of elections. This strategy resembles what the Congress party did in Karnataka by releasing their candidate list two months of time which proved beneficial for them. Clearly, the BJP aims to follow an approach in Chhattisgarh with hopes of achieving outcomes.

A significant meeting took place in Delhi on Tuesday under the leadership of Home Minister Amit Shah, specifically addressing the Chhattisgarh elections. Prominent attendees included Arun Sao, President of State Congress; Ram Lal, representative for the state; Ajay Jamwal and Pawan Sai, State General Secretaries; and Raman Singh, Chief Minister.

Insider sources reveal that these discussions were comprehensive and covered aspects. Four survey reports were presented during this meeting seeking input from heads regarding candidates.

Moreover, there have been meetings taking place at Om Mathur’s residence in Delhi since the start of the week. The exact count of candidate announcements during the phase is still being debated, indicating the party’s tactful approach towards the forthcoming elections.
