UP’s Electricity Crisis. It is an umbrella issue, which SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav questioned the BJP’s handling of the electricity supply issues in UP.
On Wednesday, Akhilesh Yadav slammed the Uttar Pradesh government for the electricity crisis in the state, pointing out the BJP government’s mismanagement in this regard.
The Samajwadi chief hurled derogatory remarks at the X regarding the state government in the post and asserted that there is no current leader in the BJP now. He also questioned the Uttar Pradesh energy minister, Arvind Kumar Sharma (AK Sharma), about whether he had been invited to meetings conducted by the chief minister to address the electricity crisis.
Smuggling a hint of dissent within the ruling party, Yadav charged BJP MLAs and MPs of writing letters against their government because of public protests against the frequent electricity failures and their allied issues.
“In the upcoming elections, people will severely punish the BJP if the party were to be more faithful to their commitment of providing them with a smiling party,” Yadav continued. He sarcastically said that, fortunately, the Chief Minister was not to point fingers at the ‘conspiracy’ of an envoy sent in by Delhi and the electricity crisis.
The SP leader also threw cold water on the relationship between the Chief Minister and the Energy Minister, saying that the public seldom sees both leaders together. Director AK Sharma has recommended that, in the review meetings, if he makes it, the government should show a photo of the two leaders in the same spirit.
Yadav also slammed the placement of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) officers at electricity substations, suggesting that the BJP government was attempting to deflect the wrath of the public due to their issues with frequent power failures and disruptions.
In the meantime, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath again assured that there has been no interruption in the power supply, and it is the main concern of the State Government. He, after assessing the status of the power supply system with representatives from the Energy Department, Power Corporation, and Discoms, instructed the authorities to provide uninterrupted electricity supply while keeping “sensitivity, promptness, and accountability” in mind in Uttar Pradesh.
Energy Minister AK Sharma also said the government has recently supplied a record amount of electricity to the state, and the administration was keen to ensure an uninterrupted power supply to all the areas of UP.
