Donald Trump latest post on social media platform Truth Social features a series of artificial intelligence generated images and videos showing dramatic scenes of military action between the United States and Iran, capturing widespread attention.
The posts occurred just after Trump warned Iran to speed up negotiations with the United States to reach a new deal before tensions in the Middle East escalate. In one post, he claimed that “the clock is ticking” with respect to Iran, and that there are “no options left” if the deal is not achieved “soon.”
Shortly after that, Trump published a number of AI-produced videos where it seemed as though American aircraft carriers were firing upon Iranian drones from a command centre. The videos featured footage of Trump talking about the strength of the military and the power of the United States.
He also posted several images digitally created images of himself in highly stylised wartime and patriotic settings. One picture was of him standing with American eagles and flags, and another was of him leading the “space warfare” operations, with explosions visible on earth all over the world.
In the other image that was also part of the AI creation, Trump was shown with robots in the background under the banner “United States Space Force.”
The former U.S. president also took shots at his political opponents, Joe Biden and Barack Obama, in a collage that juxtaposed military successes under their watch with his.
The posts soon drew responses online, with fans hailing the imagery and detractors charging that Trump was baiting his way into the rhetoric fray by posting provocative AI-generated content.
