A suicide note purportedly written by Jeffery Epstein while he was in New York Federal jail in 2019 has been made public. On orders by the federal judge the handwritten note was released five years after the disgraced financer died in a Manhattan jail cell in ehat the authorities rules as suicide.

The release comes against the backdrop of a New York Times petition last week to unseal the note. However, there has been no confirmation yet on whether or not the note was truly written by the sex offender. Karas while releasing the note on request ruled that the noted was qualified as a judicial document because it had been used in connection with Tartaglione’s criminal case.

The note, unsealed by Jduge Kenneth M Karas of the Federal District Court in White Plains was written on a yellow legal paper pad and discovered by Epstien’s then cellmate Nicholas Tartaglione.

According to local press, the note began with the line, “They investigated me for months — FOUND NOTHING!!!” It goes on to mention charges connected to events from many years earlier. It then takes a darkly philosophical turn. “It is a treat to be able to choose one’s time to say goodbye,” the note states.

It is worth noting that the letter was hidden from the Justice Department when it released millions of pages of Epstein-related documents under a new federal law, the note was not among them. An officer from the Department confirmed the same.

The note was discovered in 2019 few days later Epstien committed suicide in the cell. His former cell mate Nichloas Tartaglione found it while reading a graphic novel after Epstein was gone. Epstein and Tartaglione shared the cell for two weeks following the formers arrest on federal sex trafficking charges in July 2019.
