Madhya Pradesh launches ‘Chief Minister Jan Vishwas Abhiyan’ to resolve public grievances

The Madhya Pradesh government on Friday formally inaugurated the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Jan Vishwas Abhiyan, which seeks to bring governance nearer to the villages by speeding up the redressal of public grievances and effective implementation of welfare programmes for villagers.

As a part of the launch, the top offices of both the district and divisional levels were accompanied by bus to the village Amba Chandan where they conducted a public welfare camp in the village on that day. Various departments’ arrangements were viewed and the problems of villagers discussed with them in the field.

The target of the campaign is to do everything possible to keep those entitled to benefits under government schemes from missing out on them because of delays. The state government has directed government officials in all the districts to regularly visit villages and address the issues of the people within the village itself.

The campaign also sparked a political debate when it was launched. Congress Party leader and former minister PC Sharma raised doubts regarding the return or any results of the campaign, saying that similar campaigns were not yielding any fruits. Several long pending issues such as delays in the issue of caste certificates and civic problems in Shyamala hills, Shyam Nagar and others which are not being addressed, he said.

The BJP leader Bhagwandas Sabnani responded to the criticism by saying Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav is dedicated to making all government schemes effective for all the deserving citizens. He had said that officials have been told to promptly address public complaints and that the campaign was a major development to boost public trust and service delivery in the state.
