A video circulating online shows a sudden flash of light at the moment of impact, followed by a powerful explosion. Authorities said that areas near government offices, buildings, schools and a market rocked during the attack.

Residents reportedly rushed to metro stations and underground bunkers for safety as missiles and drones struck the city.
Russia first used the multiple-warhead Oreshnik on the Ukrainian city of Dnipro in November 2024. It was reportedly used a second time in January in the western Lviv region, according to sources in the know.
Zelenskyy strongly condemned the attack, saying it targeted ordinary civilians and civilian infrastructure, including markets, schools and water facilities
Moscow claimed the attack was carried out as a retaliation to the recent Ukranian strikes on civilian site inside Russian territory.
