Phnom Pneh: External Affairs minister S Jaishankar met US Secretary of state Antony Blinken today to discuss bilateral ties over the raging Ukraine conflict, energy issues, G20, and the situation in the Indo-Pacific. The meeting between the top diplomats of the two countries took place on the sidelines of the ASEAN-India Summit in the Cambodian capital.
Dr. S. Jaishankar tweeted about his meeting, “A good meeting with US Secretary of StateSec Blinken. Discussed Ukraine, Indo-Pacific, energy, G20, and bilateral relations”.
The meeting is conducted days before a possible meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden. Jaishankar is accompanied by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar, who is leading the Indian delegation to the ASEAN-India Commemorative Summit and the 17th East Asia Summit.
Vice President of India also tweeted about the East Asian Summit on his official twitter account.
A joint statement has been issued that acknowledged te deep civilizational linkages, maritime connectivity, and cross- cultural exchanges between Southeast Asia and India. The ASEAN member states and India sought to strengthen cooperation on cybersecurity by establishing a dialogue platforms between India and ten-member bloc.
