Apple iOS 26 Release date: Apple has launched iOS 26 beta 1 for developers, featuring a new design called Liquid Glass. This update follows the WWDC 2025 announcement. The update succeeds last year’s iOS 18 and marks the first time Apple has dropped incremental version numbers in favour of aligning with the upcoming year.
The biggest change in iOS 26 is a major overhaul of the design language through the introduction of Liquid Glass, the most significant UI shift on iPhones since iOS 7.
To download the iOS 26 Developer Beta 1, you’ll first need to enroll in Apple’s Developer Program. While there’s a paid tier, the free tier is sufficient for accessing developer betas.
If you have been eagerly waiting for apple iOS 26 release date, Here’s how to do it:
- Enroll in Apple Developer Program: Visit the enrollment page or open the Apple Developer app and sign in with your Apple ID. Complete the enrollment by providing your name and address. Select “Individual” as your ‘entity type’ and accept the agreement. You’ll be enrolled in the free tier, even if you skip the payment prompt for the paid program.
- Access Beta Updates on your iPhone: Once enrolled, on your iPhone, go to Settings > General > Software Update.
- Select Developer Beta: Tap on “Beta Updates” and then choose “iOS 26 Developer Beta” from the options.
- Download and Install: Go back to the main Software Update screen. The iOS 26 Developer Beta should now appear as a downloadable option. Tap “Update Now” and follow the on-screen instructions to begin the download and installation process. Be aware that this is a large update, and your iPhone will reboot during installation.
Remember that developer betas are pre-release software and can be unstable, so it’s always recommended to back up your device before installing.
