This prompted a band of controversy, after US President Donald Trump insulted one journalist for questioning if his refusal to appear at campaign events in Kansas and Iowa had something to do with his health.

When reporters asked him about his cancelled plans to host rallies, Trump grew angry and stated that the journalist had asked a “totally dirty question.

“Now you ask the question, you’re sick to ask.” Trump denied rumors he felt ill before his decision, saying that “it was because you were sick.

Once the reporter had further clarified the query focused on the president’s health and well-being, Trump shifted his focus from that topic to the journalist’s appearance.

“Look at this guy. He’s way out of shape,” Trump remarked, adding that he felt perfectly healthy despite having travelled to multiple states for weeks as part of the Republican midterm election campaign.

Trump also indicated he wouldn’t be heading across the state to Kansas as he didn’t feel “like going there”. He finished the conversation by telling the journalist “disgusting” and that he would have to “get into shape”.

Campaign Plans Shift Ahead of Midterms

The fight over plans to welcome stars involved an incident that occurred after Trump canceled campaign appearances in Kansas and Iowa where Republicans are going into swing-state matches.

The mid-term elections are an important vote that will not only help shape the political landscape but will also affect Trump’s agenda for the next two years.

However, Trump’s campaign funder, MAGA Inc does not seem to be abandoning the idea of holding in-person rallies, instead announcing a series of “tele-rallies” to be held with the president.

Before Election Day, the virtual events are projected to impact 19 states, including Kansas and Iowa.

The White House has not said health-related reasons were behind the cancellations. Trump reiterated that he was feeling better throughout the conversation.
