Congress MP and opposition leader in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi met several key leaders in the southern state of Kerala including UDF convenor, Adhoor Prakash and Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, chief of the disciplinary committee of KPCC.
Gandhi held meetings with five former Presidents of KPCC and three working Presidents as well.
Out of the 10 leaders, two have expressed support for KC Venugopal as the next Kerala government chief and one remained neutral with their criticism directed at other leaders in the opposition.
It is believed K Muralidharan and VM Sudheeran had promised their support to Sateeshan while the list of Venugopal’s supporters remains to be confirmed. The name of the third contender – senior leader Ramesh Chennithala – appears to have dropped out.
