Ram Temple Trust undergoes major restructuring months after donation theft controversy

The trust handling the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is going through a significant transformation months after it became the talk of the town after accusations of withdrawal of funds finding their way elsewhere surfaced, sparking a political controversy and providing opposition a chance to hit the Central government led by the BJP.

The most important one will be the appointment of a chief executive officer (CEO) to run the management and financial aspects of the temple. Under the new administration these duties will not be the head of the temple trust’s main responsibility.

Sources noted that the result of the decision making will come at a later time on who will be leading the temple trust. The restructuring is intended to bolster the administrative structure of the temple and get more attention on managing and finances of the temple.

Three new members are on the Board of Trustees as part of the changes. The additions are likely to enhance its organisational effectiveness and operations further.

The new additions, Mr. Madan Mohan Pandey, Ayodhya and Mr. Mahesh Bhagchandka, Delhi are joined by Mr. Nirmala Yadav from Shikohabad for the sake.

Changes follow months of the Ram Temple donation theft issue that drew a political debate to the nation. It had become controversial and almost led to continuous attacks on the Central government for its action on the temple.

The trust is now to have a structured administration with the appointment of a CEO and the induction of new members. There are likely to be more details to follow once the other decisions have been finalised concerning the implementation of the new arrangement and who is leading it.
