The unusual phenomenon of ice creating the image of a Shivling within a refrigerator has drawn the attention of the people of Agra, Uttar Pradesh, and those interested in the phenomenon. The locals have likened the natural formation of the ice structure to the sacred Amarnath Ice Shiv ling and made people attend at the home and recite prayers.
Local natives say that it was during a family visit to the refrigerator that the strange structure was found, as the family members saw an “ice structure” which resemble the Shivling. The rumour soon went around the neighbourhood with many people gathering at the house.
The formation has been interpreted by some of the locals as a Divine message and prayer prayers and religious rituals have been started. Visitors have begun to come and seek blessings, with offerings and donations flowing in.
The incident comes at the time when the issue of Amarnath Yatra and naturally occurred ice Shivling in the cave of the shrine is in the news. Public interest has been ignited by the similarity of the two, which is even enhanced by comparisons to the respected shrine in the Himalayas, Agra.
But nothing official or scientific has been released about the formation. This can be a natural ice formation under particular ice freeze conditions, but believers still attribute this to a spiritual occurrence.
Since then the family residence has become a place of worship, with visitors coming in throughout the day to see how the ice is forming and to join in in prayer. There has also been a huge response to the incident on social media with pictures and videos of the Shivling-like structure being circulated.
