Student-led protester Abhijeet Dipke of Cockroach Janta Party is to attend a protest in Lucknow on Friday, marking a radical gain in a campaign pushing Union Education Minster Dharmendra Pradhan to resign. The stitched-up competitive examination malfeasance to be highlighted and demonstrated will be at Eco Garden and will encompass alleged illegal leak in NEET entrance test paper, among others.

Dipke confirmed his involvement on social media, saying that he will be at the protest at Delhi and Pune alongside students protesting against similar events. The movement is calling for accountability for the running controversy around the exams that has plagued lakhs of students across the country in the past, organisers said.

The protest comes at a time when students’ rights groups and activists have raised concerns over leakages, faulty administration and disruptions in big times tests like CUET, CBSE and NEET exams in the country. These issues have been troubling since they have infringed on the trust of families and students, creating a lot of anxiety and uncertainty, protesters say.

But it is still a question which whether authorities have permitted the gathering in Lucknow. The protest hasn’t been officially confirmed by local police officials yet. The demonstrators have said they will respect and follow the legal process, if there is one in progress, and maintain a peaceful and constitutional protest.

The CJP leader Dipke believe that frequent examination controversies highlight systemic problems in country’s education administration. The party has issued detailed demands on the “exam manifesto” and has threatened to expand in the country further.

Organisers say the campaign will finally end with a bigger protest in New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on June 20 at which students and activists from all over the country are expected to converge.
