Bhopal: The state of Madhya Pradesh government has moved a notch forward to boost security measures in hospitals across the state after replicating an incident that happened in Kolkata, West Bengal. To counter this, the MP government has made it compulsory for every employee working in the hospitals in the state to go through police verification. This directive should, however, apply to all the employees, from the security guards and cleaning staff to other employees in the organizations.
As an enforcement measure, healthcare organizations have been given guidance on how to report data regarding their employees. They have also been advised to liaise with the nearest police stations to enable them to carry out the verification exercise. The aim of the policy is to make sure all personnel in the hospital undergo a background check, hence improving the security of patients and the hospital property.
In the administration of Dr. Mohan Yadav for Madhya Pradesh, directives on police verification have been clearly given to all the hospital staff. The authorities have stressed that all the people employed by a hospital, including security guards and cleaners, must submit to this check. This process is supposed to let the police evaluate the conduct of the workers as well as their past and hire only responsible staff to perform at such a crucial position.
Further, all the district SPs have been directed to collect information in response to ten given points about the hospital staff and their verification. This strategy is, therefore, all-encompassing with the aim of ensuring that all aspects of security in all the health facilities across the state will be improved.
In addition, all the superintendents of the hospitals across the state of Madhya Pradesh have been ordered to submit comprehensive information regarding the present security scenario of their hospitals. This is going to assist the authorities in realizing that if they have any weakness in place, they should deal with it as soon as possible.
The DGP of Madhya Pradesh has also sought a security report from the police chiefs of all the districts of the State. The information gathered herein will be very useful in ascertaining the level of compliance with security measures in hospitals.
