Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh’s Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, took a commendable step on Wednesday by facilitating direct fund transfers to the accounts of 7,790 exemplary Class 12 students from government schools. This initiative aims to support their purchase of scooters, bringing to fruition a prior commitment made by the government.
This financial gesture was formalized during an event in the Shahdol district where the Chief Minister initiated online transfers. The beneficiaries, comprising boys and girls, had demonstrated academic excellence by clinching the top spots in their respective government higher secondary schools during the 2022-23 academic year.
Symbolizing the start of this initiative, CM Chouhan ceremoniously handed over scooter keys to six representatives from the student community. He took this moment to emphasize the importance of road safety, urging young scooter riders always to wear helmets and strictly adhere to traffic regulations.
Elaborating on the broader vision of education in the state, Chouhan highlighted his administration’s ongoing efforts. “We are spearheading the ‘CM Rise’ schools initiative, with a vision to equip our students with world-class educational amenities right here in Madhya Pradesh,” he remarked.
Further showcasing the state’s commitment to holistic development, the Chief Minister, during the event, also inaugurated Asia’s largest sports climbing wall situated at Bicharpur in the Shahdol district, providing another testament to Madhya Pradesh’s dedication towards promoting sports and fitness alongside academic excellence.
