Bhopal: Once again, Kamal Nath, the President of the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee, has targeted the government. He wrote on social media that the Shivraj government has halted the payment of the monthly incentive amount, including for Asha-Usha workers and other health department employees, for the last four months. The undisclosed halt in this incentive payment has profoundly impacted the lives of these employees’ families.
To address this issue and to ensure the release of their rightful monthly incentive, the organization of Asha-Usha workers has sent several letters, memoranda, and even conducted protests. However, each time, the assurance from the government has been nothing more than mere announcements.
The families of these women, belonging to the low-income category, have been severely affected due to the non-payment of the rightful amount every month. Festivals like Raksha Bandhan, Dussehra, Karva Chauth, and now Diwali have lost their luster in these families due to the non-payment of their dues. Kamal Nath emphasized that the government should immediately release the pending amount for the sisters – the incentive and encouragement.
He assured the Asha-Usha sisters that, if the Congress government comes to power, he will address all their demands and ensure the security of their future. Kamal Nath concluded his message by stating that the government should promptly pay the outstanding amount to the sisters.
This situation sheds light on the challenges faced by essential healthcare workers, particularly women, who are crucial to the grassroots health infrastructure. The issue of delayed payments adds another layer of complexity to the broader discussion around the welfare of frontline workers.
