Under the scheme of transfer of land deed of the ownership rights records, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Mohan Yadav has handed over the certificates of registration of ownership rights to beneficiaries in the Harda district on 9 October 2026. The proposed exercise is intended to give both formal and legal recognition to the land rights of urban residents of poverty-stricken rural areas.
In the programme Nirbhaydas and Bhaiyalal from Gondagaon village were bestowed with registry certificate by the CM Yadav. Others also received their certificates at the event, of which there are eight.
In a speech at the function, Yadav said that the goal of the state government was to have every eligible person in the villages become the owner of their land. Swamitva is creating legal security and village empowerment in the financial terms for the villagers, he added.
The Chief Minister said that having official registry documents would boost the market value of their properties and also help beneficiaries to avail government welfare schemes. Formal land ownership documentation might help people to visit banks for credit and develop their land or participate in other tasks with more assurance.
After being provided with their certificates, the beneficiaries were finding joy of their documentation of their ownership as it would make it easier in getting bank credit and using the property for their personal and economic development. Afterwards, they also embraced the Government’s efforts.
CM Mohan Yadav also asked the Harda district collector to give prompt initiation to the process of registration under ownership programme. He directed proper communication of the procedures to land officials known as patwaris to make them aware of the relevant procedure.
The Chief Minister clarified that registry deed will be signed based on information already recorded in ownership document only. The process wasn’t supposed to set up an ownership test de novo or create new data on an individual’s real estate, he said.
The programme is in keeping with the government’s commitment to formalising rural property records and using documented rights for financial and administrative access and benefit to eligible citizens.
