A health department official in the Tikamgarh district of MP has been suspended for allegedly using a PL that was processed using an AI-generated letter to block his transfer with the minister in charge of the district.

The incident was exposed when the employee handed over the forged letter written by the alleged minister in front of the Collector’s office and marked the same in the order of the High court for verification.

The District Collector Vivek Shrotriya said that the employee known by the surname K.L. Banshkar had been transferred on 7 July 2026, pursuant to the transfer policy of the state. He explained that he had submitted the documents to the court while seeking some respite for him and a recommendation letter from the minister for revocation of his transfer.

The officials observed discrepancies while in their scrutiny and decided that the letterhead had been fabricated using Artificial Intelligence.

The incident is being regarded as serious and the administration’s prompt response was to suspend the employee and launch an internal investigation.

The Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) shall investigate if the employee made the false document in isolation or with another person.

The district administration has also alerted Superintendent of Police, as the case is related to the misuse of the minister’s identity and his official letterhead.

A police investigation for the genesis of this fake document has been launched to find out how it came out being fake and whether a large network or external assistance is involved, Shrotriya said.

All who are found guilty of the forgery and attempted use of official government documents will be brought to a strict account, officials have said.
