On Friday, several Hindu groups congregated at the Bhojshala complex in Madhya Pradesh to pray following a recent High Court ruling allowing Bhojshala to be recognized as a Temple to Goddess Saraswati.
Devotees traveling to the Dhar location brought flowers and offered prayers before the Yagya Kund where devotion was performed by the devotees of Goddess Vagdevi following the ruling handed down by the High Court. Many of the devotees in attendance included Hindu leaders such as the representative of the Bhojshala Mukti Yagya Gopal Sharma and the patron of the Bhojutsav Samiti Vishwas Pandey.
In response to the governing body ruling on Bhojshala, Gopal Sharma stated, “This ruling was a major victory for us, and the struggle for us is still not over.” Following the ruling, Gopal Sharma alleged that within each section of Bhojshala, evidence exists of Bhojshala being a temple and that “Bhojshala was and will continue to be a temple,” while also suggesting that if the opposition group chose, they could present their case to the Supreme Court of India.
Earlier Friday, the Madhya Pradesh High Court ruled that Bhojshala was a temple historically both as a center of learning in Sanskrit and as a Temple to Goddess Saraswati.
